MRAA Artist Certification Levels

Artists and eligible music releases may qualify for MRAA certification when the required amount of qualifying activity has been independently reviewed and verified.

STEEL — 100,000

100,000 verified qualifying plays*

The first MRAA certification milestone, recognizing an artist or qualifying release that has reached at least 100,000 verified plays across accepted platforms.

BRONZE — 500,000

500,000 verified qualifying plays*

Awarded when an artist or qualifying release reaches at least 500,000 verified plays across accepted platforms.

SILVER — 1,000,000

1 million verified qualifying plays*

Awarded when an artist or qualifying release reaches at least 1,000,000 verified plays across accepted platforms.

PALLADIUM — 5,000,000

5 million verified qualifying plays*

Awarded when an artist or qualifying release reaches at least 5,000,000 verified plays across accepted platforms.

RHODIUM — 10,000,000

10 million verified qualifying plays*

Awarded when an artist or qualifying release reaches at least 10,000,000 verified plays across accepted platforms.

CALIFORNIUM — 100,000,000

100 million verified qualifying plays*

MRAA's highest established certification level, recognizing an artist or qualifying release that reaches at least 100,000,000 verified plays across accepted platforms.

How Certification Works

Reaching a numerical milestone does not automatically create an MRAA certification. The artist, label, representative, or other authorized applicant submits the achievement for review. MRAA examines the supporting evidence and determines the amount of qualifying verified activity that can be accepted toward certification. Once approved, the certification is entered into the MRAA Public Certification Registry and assigned its own permanent certification number and verification record.

*Qualifying plays may consist of verified streams, views, units, approved interactions, or a combination of eligible activity sources. MRAA reviews and validates the underlying evidence before determining the total qualifying activity credited toward a certification threshold.
